Clindamycin is used to treat certain bacterial infections including infections of the lungs, skin, blood, female reproductive organs, and internal organs.
How it works
Clindamycin belongs to class of medications called lincosamide antibiotics. Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth.
Dosage
Always follow the instructions of doctor regarding the dosage and duration. Treatment of serious infections.
Adults and elderly: 150-450 mg every six hours depending on the severity of your infection.
Children: 3-6 mg/kg of body weight every six hours depending on severity of infection.
Vaginal infection as pessary or 2% cream: 100 mg once nightly for 3-7 days; topical Gel/Ointment 10g (1%w/w).
Acne: 1%w/w cream, apply twice daily.
Common side effects
Red, swollen and scaly skin, Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, itching, or skin rash, blurred vision, puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, yellow eyes or skin, chills, cough or hoarseness, shortness of breath, sore throat, stomach cramps, bleeding gums, diarrhea, difficulty with swallowing, dry mouth, heartburn, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips, fast heartbeat, chest pain, headache, dizziness, hives or welts, joint or muscle pain, lower back, unusual tiredness, unusual weight loss, thrush.
Who should not take
Clindamycin should not be taken if:
You have a history of hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin or any other ingredient of tablet/capsule/suspension.
You suffer from diarrhea. Nicotinamide(4% )

Nicotinamide is used to treat vitamin B3 deficiency and inflammatory skin diseases like acne and pellagra.

Nicotinamide is an amide form of nicotinic acid. Nicotinamide is a component of two coenzymes, which help in tissue respiration and metabolism of lipids, amino acids, proteins, and purines. Nicotinamide lowers blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels by inhibiting the synthesis of very low density lipoproteins.

Treatment of pellagra:
Adults: 300-500 mg daily in divided doses.
Children: 100-300 mg daily in divided doses.
Treatment of acne:
Adults: 750 mg nicotinamide along with zinc and folic acid.
Children: Dosage not known.
Common side effects
Allergic sensitization, gastrointestinal distresses such as urge to vomit or vomiting, or dizziness, headache, diarrhea, elevations in liver function tests, liver toxicity, increased blood sugar level (hyperglycemia), blurred vision, flushing, and rash.
Who should not take
Nicotinamide should not be given in children and in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Supplemental copper should be avoided in patients with a hereditary disease in which, copper is accumulates in the body (Wilson's disease).
