Adapalene is used to treat severe acne on the face, chest or back, where the skin may have lots of blackheads, spots and pimples.
How it works
Adapalene belongs to class of medications called retinoid-like compounds. It exhibits an anti-inflammatory effect and reduces soreness and irritation. It works by stopping pimple formation under the surface of the skin.
Dosage
Always follow the instructions of doctor regarding the dosage and duration.
Adult and child over 12 years: apply thinly, once daily before going to bed; reduce frequency or suspend treatment if irritation occurs.
Common side effects
Dry skin, skin irritation, skin burning sensation, redness of skin, red itchy rash, skin discomfort, sunburn, skin itching, skin exfoliation, acne.
Who should not take
Adapalene should not be taken by patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to adapalene or any of the other ingredients.
Clindamycin(10mg)
Uses
Clindamycin is used to treat certain bacterial infections including infections of the lungs, skin, blood, female reproductive organs, and internal organs.
How it works
Clindamycin belongs to class of medications called lincosamide antibiotics. Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth.
Dosage
Always follow the instructions of doctor regarding the dosage and duration. Treatment of serious infections.
Adults and elderly: 150-450 mg every six hours depending on the severity of your infection.
Children: 3-6 mg/kg of body weight every six hours depending on severity of infection.
Vaginal infection as pessary or 2% cream: 100 mg once nightly for 3-7 days; topical Gel/Ointment 10g (1%w/w).
Acne: 1%w/w cream, apply twice daily.
Common side effects
Red, swollen and scaly skin, Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, itching, or skin rash, blurred vision, puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, yellow eyes or skin, chills, cough or hoarseness, shortness of breath, sore throat, stomach cramps, bleeding gums, diarrhea, difficulty with swallowing, dry mouth, heartburn, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips, fast heartbeat, chest pain, headache, dizziness, hives or welts, joint or muscle pain, lower back, unusual tiredness, unusual weight loss, thrush.
Who should not take
Clindamycin should not be taken if:
You have a history of hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin or any other ingredient of tablet/capsule/suspension.
You suffer from diarrhea.
