Nebivolol(5 Mg)
Uses
Nebivolol is used to treat high blood pressure and chronic heart failure.
How it works
Nebivolol belongs to a class of medication call beta-blockers. It relaxes the blood vessels and reduced the blood pressure, making it easier for a weak heart to pump blood at a slower rate.
Dosage
Always follow the instructions of doctor regarding the dosage and duration.
High blood pressure:
Adults: 5 mg once a day.
Elderly and patients with kidney dysfunction: to start with 2.5 mg daily.
Children ?18 years: not recommended for use.
Heart failure:
Adults and elderly: To start at 2.5 mg daily, and gradually increase as required up to a maximum of 10 mg daily.
Children ?18 years: not recommended for use.
Common side effects
Weakness, headache, dizziness, abnormal tingling, numbness or pain over any area of the skin, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, shortness of breath, swollen hands or feet, slow heartbeat, heart blocks, low blood pressure, worsening of heart failure, cramp like pain on walking, blurring of vision, impotence, feelings of depression, indigestion, gas in stomach, loss of blood sugar control in diabetics, skin rashes.
Who should not take
Individuals allergic to nebivolol or any other ingredient of the tablet or other beta-blockers.
Patients of liver disease.
Patients with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema.
Patients who have a permanent pacemaker, sick sinus syndrome, slow heart rate, heart block.
It should not be taken by people who have recently had a heart attack, heart failure or worsening of symptoms of heart failure.
Patients with Raynaud
