Diclofenac(50 Mg)
Uses
Diclofenac is used in the treatment of painful conditions of joints, lower back pain, sprains or bone fractures, inflammation of joints (frozen shoulder, gout), pain and swelling following skeletal muscle, dental and other minor surgeries. It is also used in treatment of migraine.
How it works
Diclofenac belongs to group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of a certain chemical substance in the body that causes pain, fever, and inflammation.
Common side effects
Toxic epidermal necrolysis, Parenteral:abnormal kidney function, Stomach ulcers or bleeding, Itching and venous thromboembolic events, Epigastric pain
Misoprostol(0.1 Mg)
Uses
Misoprostol is used to prevent gastric ulcers resulting from treatment with pain-killers/NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin). It is also used for medical termination of pregnancy or legal abortion during early pregnancy, along with mifepristone.
How it works
Misoprostol is similar to the natural chemical prostaglandin found in the body. It acts on the stomach and intestine to create a protective lining, and thereby prevents ulcer formation. It also acts on the uterus and produces strong contractions and softens the cervix to cause abortion.
