SALT INFORMATION
Piperacillin(4000 Mg)
Uses
Piperacillin, in combination with a beta lactamase inhibitor (tazobactam) is used to treat pneumonia, complicated intra-abdominal infections urinary tract and kidney infections, skin or soft tissue infections, burns or ulcers due to diabetes (diabetic foot and serious infections of pelvic and respiratory tract It is also used to treat decrease in white blood cells (neutropenia) with fever due to bacterial infection and hospital acquired infections.
How it works
Piperacillin belongs to a group of medicines called beta-lactam antibiotic. It is a semi-synthetic, extended spectrum penicillin. It is available in fixed combinations with beta lactamase inhibitor (tazobactam) that extends its activity against resistant bacteria. It kills the bacteria by interrupting the bacterial cell wall (outer coating of bacteria) formation. As a result, the bacterial cell wall is weakened and ruptured, thereby killing the bacteria.
Common side effects
Inflammation of mouth and lips, Severe allergic reactions, Increased liver enzymes, Skin rash, Abnormal blood counts, Nausea, Severe allergic reaction, Inflammation of a vein caused by a blood clot, Low blood pressure, Increased blood creatinine, Headache, Jaundice, Indigestion, Itching of skin, Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhea, Pain and swelling due to inflammation of a vein, Inability to sleep, Itchy skin rash, Fungal infections
Tazobactum(500 Mg)
Uses
Tazobactam is an antibiotic used in combination with another antibiotic called piperacillin to treat many infections caused by bacteria, such as urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, severe vaginal infections, stomach infections, skin infections, and pneumonia. It is also used to treat complicated intra-abdominal infections including inflammation of the membrane which lines the inside of the abdomen and the entire internal organs It is also used to treat decrease in white blood cells (neutropenia) with fever due to bacterial infection.
How it works
Tazobactam belongs to group of medicines called beta lactamase Inhibitor It works by preventing destruction of beta-lactam antibiotics from chemicals released from bacteria and extends their spectrum of activity.
Common side effects
Inflammation of mouth and lips, Hypersensitivity reactions, Increased liver enzymes, Raised, Unable to sleep, , Abnormal blood counts, Nausea, Severe allergic reaction, Pale red, Inflammation of a vein caused by a blood clot, Low blood pressure, Skin rashsecondary infection by a fungus, Increased blood creatinine, Headache, Jaundice, Indigestion, Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhea, Pain and swelling due to inflammation of a vein, Injection site reactions, Itchy skin rash
