How it works
Hydroxycarbamide causes inhibition of DNA synthesis during the S-phase of cell division by acting as a ribonucleotide reductase inhibitor resulting to cell death. It is S-phase specific.
Common side effects
Erythema, Rashes, Convulsions, Alopecia, Hallucination, Dizziness, Elevated hepatic enzymes, Impaired renal tubular function, Hyperuricemia, Anorexia, Malaise, Nausea and vomiting, Disorientation, Chills, Fever, Stomatitis, Constipation, Dysuria, Diarrhea, Drowsiness, Increased creatinine, Increased blood urea nitrogen
