Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: 50 mg capsules:
Two to four 50 mg capsules taken twice a day.100 mg capsules: One to two 100 mg capsules taken twice a day.
150 mg capsules: One 150 mg capsule taken twice a day.
200 mg capsules: One 200 mg capsule taken twice a day.
Common side effects
Sensation of spinning or rotation (vertigo),nausea, extreme weakness (fatigue), vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, sweating, headache, drowsiness, palpitations, increased heart rate, faintness, cardiovascular collapse, retching, loose motion, stomach pressure, bloating, hypersensitivity reactions, hallucinations, confusion, sleep disturbances, breathlessness, itching, rash, hot flushes, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea), change in appetite, elevated blood pressure, abnormal sensation like tingling, numbness, pricking, burning of skin (paresthesia).
Who should not take
Tramadol should not be taken by persons having allergy to tramadol or to any of the excipients contained in it; after consuming alcohol, drugs like hypnotics, analgesics, opioids or psychotropic drugs, monoamine oxidase inhibitors and epilepsy uncontrolled by treatment and children below 12 years of age.
